Driving with Legacy
Drivers must be at least 21 and present a valid driving licence and passport or national ID. Every driver must be listed on the agreement signed at collection. A young-driver fee may apply to drivers aged 21–24 and will appear in the quote.
Reservations, pricing and payment
Submitting a request does not confirm a reservation. Legacy confirms availability and payment arrangements by email or WhatsApp. Your quote lists the rental rate, extras, delivery, discounts and tax. Prices are in USD; peso amounts are indicative and the applicable exchange rate is confirmed before payment.
Security deposit
The deposit is disclosed before booking and is separate from the rental price. It is returned after the return inspection, less documented charges for uncovered damage, missing fuel, fines or breaches of the rental agreement. Bank processing times depend on the payment method.
Cancellations and changes
Cancel without charge at least 48 hours before pick-up. Later cancellations incur one rental day. Date or vehicle changes are subject to availability and may change the price. Contact Legacy with your booking code.
Collection, return and fuel
Bring original documents to the agreed place and time. We inspect condition, mileage and fuel with you. Return the vehicle with the same fuel level and to the agreed location. Request extensions before the scheduled return; additional charges may apply.
Insurance and permitted use
The rate includes the basic cover specified in the rental agreement, subject to excesses and exclusions. Full cover is optional. Racing, subletting, driving under the influence, transporting illegal substances and taking the vehicle abroad without written permission are prohibited. Misuse may invalidate coverage.
Assistance and incidents
After an accident, prioritise safety, contact emergency services and notify Legacy immediately. Do not admit liability or agree payments with third parties without insurer guidance. Keep the authorities’ report, photographs and details of those involved.
Agreement and contact
The agreement provided before collection identifies the vehicle, cover, excesses and applicable obligations. These terms do not restrict consumer rights under Dominican law. For questions or complaints, use the Legacy contact details published on this website.
